Redclaw heaved his way up onto the boulder. "Are you sure no one can see us here?" he asked the cat behind him nervously. He helped her up and then looked at the sun shining in the sky. It was high noon, and most of his clanmates thought he was asleep in his den after going on the dawn patrol.

The delicate little she-cat stepped up on the rock with the red warrior's help. Her soft but stable snow white paws grazed the surface of the stone as she padded beside Redclaw. She stepped out of the shadows and into the sunlight, as the sun hit her pelt she shone, her dark gray tabby fur seeming to come to life on this beautiful day. She turned her neck to look at Redclaw, he a good cat, always doing what was best for his Clan, his heart was in the right place. "No. No one can see us." The she-cat spoke delicately to the tom, laying down, tucking her paws under her snow white chest.

Redclaw sighed and sat down too. "Good. I fear one in my clan may know." He wasn't sure, but he was always suspicious. He had a hard time trusting easily, and it seemed that this she-cat was his best friend in the world. None other would risk their life to save his. None other would keep deadly secrets for him. "Maybe I am overreacting."

"Just a bit." The warm-hearted tabby purred. She looked up at him and pushed herself up easily, her long legs holding her slim figure with perfect grace. She stroked her white-dipped tail across his flame-coloured coat.

Redclaw purred back. "I suppose you could get away with a bit of trouble, in your position." He edged closer to her so that they wouldn't become cold.

"No one like me would be able to do this." She said, nuzzling him, knowing she shouldn't be here, maybe that's what made her attracted to Redclaw, the forbidden love... the risk, the danger.... She knew she didn't want to, but she had duties, and as much as she loved him, she would soon have to go. "We need to go soon..." She sighed, looking away from the sunrise, and Redclaw's gaze.

Redclaw sighed. "All right. I will miss you." He stepped down from the rock. "When can we meet again though?"

"Course! The gathering is tomorrow night though. So we'll have to stay away so no one suspects... How about two days after the gathering?" She said, her voice chiming but low. She placed her snow white paws farther down the rock, getting ready to leap down.

Redclaw thought about it. "Sure. Here again? This is a good place."

She nodded looking at the olden rock below. this rock has been here for uncountable seasons, yet no one knew about it but them... her mind wandered. Her mother always brought her here as a kit, to get some fresh air away from the medicine den. And ever since it had been her secret place... and Redclaw is the only cat I ever want to share it with...

Redclaw gave her one last nuzzle with his head and slowly walked back to his own territory. He felt a new weight in his stomach that only came when he couldn't see Crystalstar. He looked back at her. He gave a small smile and a tail wave, and dissappeared through the bushes.
:: after the gathering ::
"Crystalstar?" Redclaw hissed. He fought his way through the brush that he had been through three days ago to see the same cat. "Are you here?"
