All was quiet in the StreamClan camp as the silohette of a muscular and tall figure appeared out of a den hidden behind lichen. The feline's orange eyes burned brightly in the cool night; his long tail sweeping the marshy ground swiftly as he trotted across the frosty clearing.
Ears prickling as he came to the sacred streams that surrounded a small patch of island. The small island was the place where StreamClan leaders held clan meetings, and tonight was a very important time to address the clan. For their were apprentices to appoint mentors, plus, the announcement of the new deputy...
Torchstar lept with great ease over the shiny water, and turned so he was facing the whole camp, the moon making his firy fur turn an errie silver. His eyes glanced around the camp, and he let out a cool breath, and breathed in deeply, taking in the freash scents of StreamClan camp. After two heart-beats, a yowl sounded through the quiet area. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around the small island for a clan meeting!" His voice rang out clear for all the cats in their dens to hear.
Torchstar had gotten back from his long, yet thrilling journey to get his nine lives. He was a new leader, and he knew that he had to choose a deputy before moonhigh....Which looked to be in about twenty minutes, for the moon was not at it's highest point yet. He had thought long and hard on who to pick, and was certain his choice was going to be good for StreamClan.
Like most new leaders, Torchstar had a prickle of pride as he called his clan together, it felt great! Was this how Stormstar felt...? The ginger tom looked casual as he sat in the middle of the island, waiting for the shadows of his clan-mates to appear. I hope the apprentices had a nice break, but now their about to be put the work by their new mentors. Torchstar thought with a soft purr of amusment.
Of course, with his calm attitude, it didn't meant he was still grieving over StreamClan's lost leader, it was a shame Stormstar had to die so quickly... He was such a good leader, and Torchstar would remember him always. He just hoped his clan accepted him as leader, they seemed to be good about it when he returned last night, and through out this day. But now was the time to appoint a new deputy, and get those apprentices rolling with their new mentors.

Nightwhisper yawned, and padded ot of the warriors den, into the clearing. She spotted Torchstar sitting on highrock, and realized that he must be announcing the new deputy. She sat down on the side of the clearing, where she could see everything.
Brindlepaw just got back from hunting and dropped her small catch of one mouse onto the pile. She should have listened to Redclaw. Hunting in the rain is useless. She heard Torchstar calling, so she sat down just in front of the apprentice's den, and set herself to grooming while she waited.

Shadowflight walked out of the warriors den and up to the small island, eyes shining with excitement. She was hoping that she would get an apprentice today, that would be wonderful for her. It would show that she is a good warrior and can handle responsibility. She grinned and stat down, staring patiently up at Torchstar.

Redclaw let loose a giant yawn as he heard Torchstar's mighty call. He stretched slowly out of his bed and followed Nightwhisper out into the clearing.

Snowpaw seemed to shot awake with energy, yes she had slept in til Torchstar's call, simply because she had been on the dusk patrol last night. Her mentor was lost to her in battle with ScorchClan two sunrises ago, and she was grief-struck but she knew she would have to pull together and Torchtro-Torchstar would assign her a new mentor this day. Along with the decision of deputy... she wondered who it would be, only Torchstar would know.
After her mind babbling she hauled her thick white-coat covering her rather plump figure up and nudged Sunpaw near her. He looked more like a she-cat then she ever would, her short whiskers gave her a tom-like appearance, along with her shortened legs and tail, she was not and never would be long and slender like Sunpaw's light golden figure. "Sunpaw!" She barked cheerfully, just before pushing him upside down and galloping out into the clearing, eager to see who her new mentor would be! [/color]

The young ginger leader waited with calm eyes as his clan began to creep out of their dens and gather round the small island. His eyes watched as faces he had known for quite awhile came into view and his eyes landed on a particular cat, one he was to choose to become deputy. I know she'll be the right one. Torchstar thought with determination as he looked at other cats gather round. One in particular was the young white fur-ball of an apprentice, Snowpaw. His whiskers twitched as she galloped into the clearing, he knew her last mentor had been killed by the claws of a ScorchClan cat, and that she would need a new mentor. And he knew just the cat for the job.
Orange eyes straying on the small she-cat, the dusty tom's tail flicked as he waited for more to gather before he began.

Brindlepaw didn't stop grooming her fur yet. It was almost perfect.
Nightwhisper waited patiently. Did he have to make a last-minute decision, or was he thinking it through? She didn't know, but she thought it took longer than usual. That shouldn't surprise her though. Torchstar is new. He hasn't done this much before.

Lockjaw crept out of the lonely elder's den and sat at the back of the crowd. His broken jaw hurt in leaffall most, and he was now in a bad mood. His tail thrashed about, and watched his new leader.

Shadowflight flicked her tail in greeting to the cats who walked over to the clan meeting then turned her attention back to Torchstar, wondering what he was going to say.

Halfface heard the call and ran too his father's side, "Hm.." He murmured, "I wonder what this is about.." He said gazing at Torchstar
Lockjaw shrugged his shoulders at his son and touched Halfface's muzzle with his paw, as if to say 'Stop talking and maybe you'll find out!"

Fogwhisker padded out of the warriors den with a yawn. He shook his head to make the hair on his head lie flat. He padded towards the gathered cats and sat down in the back of the crowd. He casually licked his paw and dragged it across his whiskers. He blinked his eyes at Torchstar. He wondered who would be chosen as deputy tonight....

((Oh, my gosh. I need to post. ._.))
A slender silver she-cat appeared from the darkness of the Warrior's den. Her soft coat shining from a recent cleaning. Jaybreeze, one of the StreamClan warriors, gracefully padded out into the clearing and stepped up to the gathering place. Her icy gaze swept toward all of her fellow members of the Clan. Ah, StreamClan, what a wonderful group.
Jaybreeze sat down and rested her long, fluffy tail over her delicate paws and looked up to listen to what the mighty Torchstar had to say.
