Riverpaw looked down at Honeypaw's body, and felt a tear slide down his cheek. He closed his eyes and buried his nose in her soft, cold fur. He curled his tail tighter around his side and thought back. His mother had died giving birth to him and Honeypaw, His father had died, brutally murdered in battle by a ScorchClan warrior a couple of moons ago, and now, this. A renegade StreamClan warrior had killed his sister. He blocked away the thought of the blood running into the small stream. His flicked open as someone brushed past him. He lifted his head and saw Shatteredfang, his brother from his mothers first litter, padding towards the entrance. He slowly stood up, despite his cramped muscles. He had been sitting vigil all night, and now, the suns was starting to rise in the distance. He followed Shatteredfang to the entrance to the camp and stopped when he turned. "Where are you going?"Riverpaw asked. "Out, you should go get some sleep." Was Shatteredfang's reply. Riverpaw felt waves of sorrow coming from his brother, but didn't press him. "Well, be careful out there, I couldn't stand to lose you to."He mewed somberly. "Don't worry, I'll be careful."He turned and padded out of the camp quietly. Then, it hit him. This had already happened, this, this was a dream. Suddenly, a rumble of thunder hit the air, and he was standing on the edge of the stream where Honeypaw's body had been found. He saw Shatteredfang sitting on the other side of the stream. His back was to Riverpaw. Why wasn't he waking up? Why? Why? Suddenly, he heard it, a horrible, roaring noise coming from upstream. A voice cracked through the air like lightning. "Water shall tear you apart, only in fire may you become one once more."The voice had drowned out the roaring, but now, it was back. Then the water hit him, pulling him down, deep into the depths of the waves. The stream had turned into a raging torrent, He could still see the far bank, Shatteredfang, sitting as if nothing was happening. "Help Me!"Riverpaw screeched, swallowing water as he did. He sputtered and fought to stay afloat as Shatteredfang turned to look at him over his shoulder. His expression was full of hurt and confusion, but, it was somewhat blank. He was pushed under again, and sputtered to the surface, gasping for air. Wait, where was he? Now he was back in the forest, but it wasn't the same, it was dark, yet he could see the sun through the clouds...... Smoke! He turned and looked at the forest. It was alive with fire, blazing, consuming everything in its path. "Why?"He screeched, just as the fire reached him. He woke, shaking, his nest a shambles. He blinked in the darkness, and pushed his nose into his fur, and curled up, shuddering.........Why?

Nightpaw entered the IvyClan camp in a trot. He wasn't much in a hurry like any other concerned cat would be. He was actually very bored at the moment, after those senior cats ruined his fun, what was the point in even helping them? Fun or no fun, he probably had to help anyway...
His ears prickled as he looked around the camp quickly. lazy no good swines! He thought, eyes narrowing as his blue eyes rolled. Looking toward the apprentices' den first, Nightpaw's eyebrow raised. perhaps someone's in there... Nightpaw wondered, upon coming in and scenting the air, he could tell some patrols had already been gone.
The cream tabby padded over to the den casually, ears twitching as he paused outside it. He heard some russleing and it sounded like some cat's groans. okayy, what's going on in there? He thought, eyes widening slightly in curiousness. He poked his nose in to see a small feline, curled upin a tight ball.
Nightpaw's gaze went back to normal as he recognized the tom, Riverpaw. ahh, cat who did my job. He thought, eyes showing amusment as he stared at the apprentice quivering in his sleep. "Riverpaw..." He meowed, seeing if the tom would answer. After a heart-beat of no answer, the tom padded in and poked the tom's side roughly. "Hey! WAKE UP!" He hissed, but then saw that Riverpaw was awake.
"oh your up. Great." He meowed, tone cool as he smirked."Have a bad dream?" He asked, towering over the tom calmly. He wasn't in any hurry to get back to the wounded cats out there, so he decided to have some small talk with Riverpaw. He blinked at him and waited for a response.

Riverpaw rasied his gaze. Normally he wouldn't be intimidated by Nightpaw, but after Shatteredfang had left, everything had changed, he was a different cat. "So what if I did?"He mewed defensivly, standing and flicking a scrap of moss off of his ear. "Whats it to you?"He knew he was smaller than but he wasn't about to let the other apprentice walk over him.

Nightpaw's tail twitched in amusment. "Well, I don't want your kittish squeals and crys to wake me up in the night, that's what it is to me." His voice came out in a slight sneer as he stared obviously at the tom.
He didn't give the apprentice a chance to reply. "Anyway. You know that tom Rockwhisker? He's hurt down by the ScorchClan border.." Nightpaw meowed, looking off thoughtfully. "He tripped on his way back from it, I don't know what was wrong with him, he started spazzing and then dropped to the side like a huge boulder." He went on, stepping away from the den so Riverpaw could come out.
Eyes narrowing, the tom scented the air breifly. "I'm not sure if Wildfang or what's her face wanted me to bring anyone there...So I suspect we should just stay here." He concluded, tail flicking. His eyes flashed to the leader's den breifly. "Is Crystalstar in her den?" He asked looking at Riverpaw with lazy eyes.

Riverpw shook his head. "For one, Its day time, and if you want to go sleep right now your lazier than most. Also, how should I know if Crystalstar is in her den? I'm just getting up!"he padded past the larger apprentice towards the leaders den. He saw that she wasn't in her den and returned to Nightpaw, "No shes not here."He mewed. He then turned away from Nightpaw again and padded towards the warriors den. "Blazestorm? Can we go do some training?" Anything to get out of camp, away from Nightpaw.

Nightpaw let out a scoff as Riverpaw babbled on in his irritating voice of stupidness. His tail lashed as he waited for the apprentice to come back. He didn't care if Crystalstar wasn't in her den anymore anyway, like he wanted to help those damn cats back there. "For one." He growled now, ears twitching in annoyment. "I wasn't the one sleeping during the day, YOU were, mouse-brain. Unlike you, I can wait til' night-time to sleep." He hissed, following Riverpaw to the warriors den, "And also, are you DEAF?!" He spat in disgust at Riverpaw, "One of your lousy clan-mates is hurt, and you don't give a care, I'm surprised at you dear Riverpaw, no heart? I like the way you think." He now hissed, an evil smirk plastering on his features as he turned cool and calm, eyes flicking toward inside the warriors den. "I've taught you well..." He meowed proudly, tail flicking. "So, lazy-ball, what was your night-mare about?" He prodded, teeth showing as he grinned at Riverpaw, eyes glowing in curiosity.

Riverpaw turned back to face the young tom. "You call me heartless? Your the biggest jerk this clan has ever seen, you don't care about anyone but yourself! How dare you acuse me of not caring. You've never been through what I have. Grow up Nightpaw, you couldn't ever teach an apprentice. You're to much of an arrogant mouse brain. Go preach your superiority to someone who cares."He spat out the last sentence, the venom from his weeks of pain coming forward. He turned and rushed out of camp, leaving Nightpaw to stew in his own self love.

Nightpaw watched Riverpaw go, his dark blue eyes showing amusment, and slight anger. "That's right, run you fool." He growled softly to himself, eyes narrowing as the words that were spat by the tom ring in his ears. and he thinks I'M the jerk. Nightpaw thought, claws scraping the ground as he sat down and drew a paw over his right ear quickly.
Letting out a snort, the tall apprentice padded off toward the fresh-kill pile, not feeling like doing anything but to sit and eat. Riverpaw had both facinated him, and made him want to claw something up like fury.
The young tom sat there, thinking to himself, was he really that much of a jerk? Of course not! That lousy pest was nothing but jealous! He would die for the skills Nightpaw possed.
Eyes narrowing more, his eyes landed on a small vole on top, he sighed and snatched it up, growling as he padded back toward the apprentice's den, to eat his meal in peace by the nettle pines.

Riverpaw raced through the trees, not caring where he was going, just as long as he could get away from Nightpaw. He stopped near the stream and padded out onto a rock that stuck into the water. He sat down and looked at the churning water below. He saw Honeypaw's reflection in the water beside him. Startled, he looked up. No one was there. He sighed and sank down on the rock, tired. What could he do? His family was all but dead to him, he had no friends in the clan. How could he ever fight for his clan, knowing that his brother could be the ScorchClan cat he ended up fighting? He looked down at the water again and saw Shatteredfang beside him this time. He hissed and slashed the image bitterly, the water flashing in the air before falling back into the stream. He turned his back on the stream and went back into the forest. He found an old tree that had few leaves on it. He clawed his way up the trunk and settled down in a fork between branches, lost in thought...
